Nelson Young was born in Belize City, in the msall country of Belize, Central America. He left school at an early age and worked as a fisherman, through a friend he discovered a talent for wood carving which later lead to painting, which was his true calling. Nelsons first exhibition was in 1982, this gave him the opportunity to develop his work on canvas and lead to his first international exhibition in Stockholm, Sweden. Today Nelson figures among the most preeminent Belizean artists whose work is collected by modern art lovers worldwide.
